ZipFits position your foot correctly so that your ski boots don’t cut off circulation to your feet, this is the single best thing you can do to keep your feet and toes warm.
Additionally, ZipFits feature a toe box constructed of neoprene, merino wool, and Thinsulate making for a far warmer fit that conventional foam liners. Neoprene naturally insulates, which is why surfers in the cold northern Atlantic use thick neoprene wetsuits. Pairing neoprene with thermoregulating merino wool and Thinsulate provide warmth without too much thickness, keeping your feet toasty without impacting your stability or reaction time. Read some reviews to hear what other skiers think.
ZipFits far exceed the industry standard. Unlike the thermomoldable foam used in competing liners, ZipFit’s OMFit cork composite material does not compress, meaning you’ll get a consistent fit and your liners won’t pack out, What’s more? You can add more cork to the ankles or tongue of the liner to dial in your perfect fit.
Unlike foam injected liners that are “one-and-done,” you can tweak the amount of cork in your liners continuously and since ZipFits can outlast your shells, you can easily re-warm your ZipFits to make sure they fit perfectly in your new shells.
For returns, we offer a 90 day return window as long as the liners show no more than 5 days of use and no alterations. See the full return and exchange policy here:
For warranty, we offer a 2 year limited lifetime warranty. See the policy here: https://app.zipfit.com/rma
Yes, if there is evidence that you did not follow proper care instructions, or if it’s clear that you skied the liners for more than 5 days, this may void your warranty.
Orders typically ship within 3-5 days.
Many stock liners will change shape and “pack out” after 50-100 days on snow. ZipFit liners often last skiers over 300-500 days on snow. ZipFit liners with the cork composite fill are dramatically different from stock foam liners as the cork material doesn’t compress or “pack out.”

No. The innerboots last many skiers 5+ years and the design remains relevant year after year, so we are not trying to clear inventory.

Yes! Tele skiers appreciate the benefits of ZipFits as much as anyone, especially the flexible and comfortable toe box. The GFT is a good option due to the flex panels for lower volume tele boots. We also commonly recommend the Freeride and Workhorse due to their fluted cuff which allows for a larger range of motion for dopping knees.
ZipFits are designed for the forces and fit requirements of skiing. We see plenty of snowboarders find success, but one should expect to make modifications to achieve their desired fit.
At all comes down to user preference.
Are you willing to lace up your liners and step into your shells before every use? Our leather lined ZipFits require this move, while our neoprene lined ZipFits are easier to step into. If your answer is “no way” – we suggest the neoprene ZipFits.
Leather offers a true to form fit meaning your ankles and shinbone will imprint into the leather, securing your lower leg and foot to the ultimate degree.
Neoprene has more natural cushioning, so while you can still get an excellent fit, they have a more forgiving feel when skiing.
Both interior liners can last a LONG TIME with proper care. While we think of leather as more durable, we know of a pair of neoprene liners with 1500 ski days.
For precision fit and performance, the leather has a slight advantage.
For ease of use and all mountain comfort, the neoprene has a slight edge.
Each pair of ZipFits are handmade in Montebelluna, Italy. As they are not mass produced, it’s fair to expect some small imperfections with glue, etc. This will not effect the performance of the liners. Each pair is unique and made with love.
Yes, we highly recommend using a good over the counter orthotic or custom foot bed in your ZipFits. ZipFits are designed to keep your foot and leg in the proper position within a boot, having the correct footbed for you will help immensely.
For most skiers, this is not necessary, which is why we don’t include the cork kit with purchase. Some skiers find they want to add cork to their liners during the initial fit, some want to add cork after two seasons, and some never add cork to their ZipFits.
Drop-in insoles are replacement footbeds that are designed to fit a variety of feet and shoes and offer heightened support and foot alignment. Insoles were made to provide a variety of benefits, including increasing comfort and arch support in daily wear, relieving foot and joint pain, providing support to decrease injury risk, enhancing athletic performance, and more.
Choose the footbed that corresponds to the your shoe size. If between sizes, it’s best to size up and alter them if needed.
You can trim the footbeds to length if you are between sizes. Check out the Trim to Fit Instructions video here.
ZipFit Legacy Insoles were designed to fit in all shoes and all sports, including your ZipFit liners. They can be dropped into any shoe for any activity to increase support, comfort, and healthy foot positioning.
In general, your insoles should be broken in after about 10 hours of walking with them. We suggest walking in them for a few hours prior to wearing for a full day of heavy activities. If you’re unfamiliar with wearing footbeds, expect a light pressure at the back of the instep until worn in.
ZipFit Legacy Insoles are made with intention and without planned obsolescence, like ZipFit innerboots. Constructed using an EVA Cork and natural leather top sheet, these respond well to heat, and will adapt to the form of the foot to get better over time. They will last you for as long as a pair of shoes last, if not much longer.
ZipFit Legacy Insoles may provide dramatic improvements and relief in comfort and support. However, our insoles are not a substitute for professional medical examinations, core and corrective orthotics as prescribed by licensed physicians and podiatrists. If ZipFit support is not comfortable we recommend a thorough foot examination by your podiatrist. The sooner you act, the better your chances for relief.
Most skiers find ZipFit innerboots to be stiffer than other liners. ZipFits offer a uniform stiffness through the side panels, tongue, and cuff of the innerboot. Adding cork to your ZipFit innerboots will increase the stiffness. Many other liners are soft through the ankle areas and then have a very stiff tongue, which can compromise your foot positioning. It’s worth noting that ZipFits do not have a 3D plastic injection molded tongue.
Certainly, but take note that if you make an incision in your liners for boot heaters, that will void your 30 day money back guarantee. We recommend skiing in your liners for a week or so to ensure they are the right size and model before you add boot heaters. Additionally, heated socks perform well and don’t require altering your liners.
We recommend stepping into your liners and then into your shells for all ZipFits. If you have leather-lined ZipFits, this is mandatory as the leather is too tacky. For neoprene-lined ZipFits, you may choose to leave your liners in your shells and step into them. Removing laces and power straps can be helpful with this.
Getting into your ZipFits gets easier every time. You can expect some difficulty the first couple times — having a warm ski boot shell will make a big difference. The ski boot horn is a helpful tool for booting up regardless of how you choose to put your ski boots on.
This is called world-cupping into the shell.
We recommend lacing up all of our liners before stepping into your boot shell for three reasons. First, it positions your foot correctly in the liner. Second, we find this is the easiest way to get your boots on. Third, putting your liner on first prevents unintentionally pushing the cork in the heel area out of place.
All leather interior liners must be laced up first because the leather is so grippy.
Some skiers find removing the laces allows them to keep the ZipFit liner in the shell when putting boot on/ taking boots off.
To learn more about adding cork to your ZipFits, visit our Resources page. Cork is normally added for two different reasons. First, shortly after the initial fitting in order to increase the volume of the liner or address specific fit considerations. After this, cork can be added as needed to maintain the fit you need for seasons to come.
Our goal is always to recommend the correct ZipFit for your feet and ski boots. If you choose to swap your ZipFit innerboots to a different set of shells that is lower volume, or if you have a specific pain point, you might consider removing cork from your ZipFits. First, we recommend warming the innerboots and migrating cork out of the area of increased pressure. If that doesn’t address the issue, use an empty cork tube to remove cork. Simply insert the empty tube into the cork port and push the tube into the cork. Using the other hand to direct the cork into the tube will help.
The laces and power straps on ZipFits are removable and replaceable. Feel free to experiment with and without these to determine what is best for you. You can purchase replacement laces on our website.
We explain this here, but basically the key is to warm the shells and liners so that the OMfit cork becomes easily malleable and takes the shape of your foot and lower leg once the foot is in the liner and the liner in the shells.
There are two approaches here: The first is reduce the height underneath the feet (ie. use a lower profile footbed). The second is to reduce height over the instep. Step one is to migrate cork from the instep area of the tongue further up into the shin (see fit videos). Step two is to either skip the lowest lace loop or swap the ZipFit laces for a flat lace.
The short answer is massage the ankle area of the ZipFit. The goal here is to move some cork material around. Warming up the ZipFit and using your hand or a tool (think broom handle in diameter, ski pole grip in length) should make moving the cork easier.
There are two approaches here. The first is to consider a 1-2mm shim under the footbeds which will lift the entire foot within the ZipFit. The second is to add cork composite material to the tongue of the ZipFit, specifically targeting the bottom portion of the tongue. Start with this. If you still feel like you want to take up more space, add some cork (~1/4 tube) to the lateral and medial instep channels within the ankle pouch.
The Ski Boot Horn is a simple piece of pliable plastic with para-cord attached to it. The Ski Boot Horn is the best solution for both stepping into your ZipFits and once your liners are laced up, stepping into your ski boot shells. We tested a number of solutions for stepping into our shells with our liners on — the Ski Boot Horn is the easiest and reduces wear and tear along the heel of your Zips.
Check out our Care & Repair page for our best practices on how to care for your ZipFit liners for years to come.
Ski boot liners will dry better if removed from the shells, but what about the wear and tear of removing the liners and then stepping back into the shells? We recommend removing your ZipFits from the shell after skiing to unlace them and let them dry and then using the Ski Boot Horn to assist in stepping back into your shells. The Ski Boot Horn dramatically reduces the wear on the backs of your liners and by lacing your liners up prior to stepping into your boots will ensure that your foot is properly positioned.
The best way to prevent wear on the heel of your ZipFits is by using the ski boot horn for stepping into your ski boots and ensuring that the heel of the liner clears the back of the boot when you take off your ski boots. Prep the back of your boots by covering any hard edges or screws with tape. Many patrollers and instructors choose to place gorilla or duct tape on the spine of the liner to help monitor where friction is occurring.
